BI to Initiate Deportation Case vs. Alleged Discaya Car Importer

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said that it will initiate a deportation case against Cao Cheng, 41, the alleged importer of couple Curlee and Sarah Discaya’s luxury vehicles.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado bared that they received information from Land Transportation Office (LTO) Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao that Cao was arrested for several violations, including obstruction of apprehension and prosecution of criminal offender, illegal use of alias, false representation, and willful misrepresentation of material information last November 27 in Makati, and was detained at the Special Operation Division, Highway Patrol Group, in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
He said that the LTO provided documents showing that Cao has been misrepresenting himself using the name Martin Zhao in his LTO records.
The use of a false identity in itself, according to Viado, shows that a foreign national is undesirable and should not be allowed to remain in the country.
“He was found to have fraudulently acquired documentation using a different name, and this is a clear case of misrepresentation,” said Viado adding that. “No foreign national should use fictitious identities in transactions in the Philippines.”
Viado said that Cao is set to be transferred to the BI’s facility in Taguig after inquest and medical examination. He faces a case with the BI, and if found guilty, will face deportation and blacklisting.
